What is Coaching?
What coaching is . . .
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines leadership coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential to reach their career goals. Through the use of powerful questions, the process of coaching opens the door to untapped resourcefulness, awareness and imagination.
What coaching isn't . . .
Coaching is not therapy, consulting or mentoring. Coaches do not provide right answers. Rather, a coach stands with the client, helps clarify the situation, and then together the coach and client transform challenges into victories with the client held accountable for reaching his/her desired goals.
what makes coaching so powerful?
A great leadership coach helps facilitate growth by analyzing your current situation, identifying limiting beliefs and devising a plan to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. You gain a new perspective on the challenges you face, and start to see the negative patterns that could be blocking your path to success.
